We particularly encourage young researchers to present their recent scientific work. The Young Investigator Award Competition – the Arthur E. Baue-Award – will be given to the best of the peer reviewed work submitted to TSIS 2010.

A. E. BAUE-AWARD COMPETITION

The Arthur E. Baue-Award will be presented to the best of peer reviewed science projects presented during TSIS 2010.

Eligibility: Please note that application for A.E. Baue-Awards will only be considered if delegates have finalized their registration to attend the congress by the abstract submission deadline (November 6th, 2009). Delegates who submit an abstract but do not complete their congress registration by November 6th, 2009 will not be eligible. Predoctoral students and postdoctoral trainees must check the appropriate box on the online abstract form.

How to apply: The competitors must include a letter from an advisor or head of department attesting to the student’s role and the project, financial needs and the level of support.

Competition: The reviewers, nominated from the TSIS 2010 Scientific Committee, will select three finalists from the list of abstracts presented during the Young Investigator’s Arthur E. Baue Award Session.

STUDENT/POSTDOCTORAL TRAVEL AWARDS COMPETITION

With the support of the industrial sponsors TSIS 2010 is delighted to offer a total of 30 travel awards to presenters whose submitted research has been accepted for oral presentation.

All abstracts will be reviewed by the TSIS 2010 Peer-Review Committee. The top 30 abstracts, selected for presentation, will receive a travel award. Notification of travel awards will be made to those selected by December 30th, 2009.

Please note that application (check the appropriate box on the online abstract form) for TSIS 2010 travel awards will only be considered if delegates have finalised their registration to attend the congress at the abstract submission deadline (November 06th, 2009). Delegates who will submit an abstract but do not have completed their congress registration by November 06th, 2009 will not be eligible.
